In October 2011, people observed the strange phenomenon of the coast of the island of Jerono in the southwest of the Canary Islands in Spain: rising bubbles and smoke from the sea, dead fish floating on the sea, the local people said the air was filled with a strong smell of sulfur. It turned out that all this was a sign of the eruption of the submarine volcano (1,000 meters below the Atlantic sea). The eruption lasted until March, when the top of the volcanic cone was only 86 meters from the sea level.
